BREAKING NEWS: Two Pike DUI Cases End in Prison Time
By Editor Becky Watts

ZEBULON - The June 2, 2025 term of court had 45 cases scheduled to be heard before Judge Ben J. Miller, Jr. in the Pike County Courthouse.

Ronald Ard and Kellie Andresen have both signed plea agreements with the District Attorney’s Office to resolve their cases in the Superior Court of Pike County.

Ronald Ard

Ronald Ard was arrested and charged with Homocide by Vehicle 1st Degree (felony), Serious Injury by Vehicle, Failure to Yield, and Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Alcohol after he ran a stop sign coming out of Pike Plaza on January 1, 2024 and caused an accident which took the life of 47 year old Brent Michael Jones.

Assistant District Attorney (ADA) Michael Rogers advised that Ard agreed to a blind plea deal and was sentenced to 15 years including fine and probation with 10 years to serve in prison and 40 hours of community service.

Kellie Andresen

Kellie Andresen was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Homicide By Vehicle 1st degree, Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Alcohol, and Failure to Maintain Lane after causing a head on collision in Pike County on Easter weekend in 2023 that took the lives of Andrew Hageman of Griffin and his mother Rhonda Hageman of Fitzgerald.

She has been under house arrest with electronic monitoring since her indictment based on the lack of a facility that could accommodate her medical requirements and was paying for all fees connected to random drug testing and the electronic pretrial release monitoring.

ADA Rogers advised that Andresen agreed to a plea deal and was sentenced to 40 years including fine and probation with 20 years to serve in prison, DUI school, license surrender, and 40 hours of community service.
