REGULAR BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MONTHLY MEETING

ZEBULON - There are two meetings of the Pike County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The first is below this notification of the afternoon meeting. It begins at 9 a.m. with the agenda posted below. The second meeting is included here and will be at 1 p.m.

The morning meeting will be broadcast live on the Pike County Times Facebook page. The afternoon meeting will not be. [Note from the Editor: Scroll down to read the agenda for the 9 a.m. meeting.]

There will be one other opportunity to speak to the commissioners regarding the proposed property rate increase. This will be at the regular scheduled night meeting on Tuesday, August 26 at 6:30 p.m. The decision will also be made that night.

It is STRONGLY recommended that citizens voice their opinions on these matters to the Board of Education and the Pike County Board of Commissioners by contacting your representatives, sending letters and emails, and showing up at meetings. Town Hall Meeting at 8:45 a.m.

ZEBULON - The Pike County Board of Commissioners will meet in the upper courtroom of the courthouse on August 13, 2025 – 9:00 a.m. for a regularly scheduled meeting. There will be a Town Hall Meeting at 8:45 a.m. for anyone who would like to speak to the commissioners about any issues that you may have. The meeting is open to the public will be broadcast live on Pike County Times' Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/pikecountytimes.

[Note from the Editor: It will be nice when our county joins so many of the surrounding cities and counties to record and broadcast its meetings in a central place so citizens who cannot attend the meetings can watch at their convenience.]

a. Consider use of Courthouse Grounds from Bryan Richardson with Pike County American Legion Post 197 for Patriot Day Observance Program on September 11, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

b. Consider use of Courthouse Grounds from Bryan Richardson with Pike County American Legion Post 197 for Veterans Day Observance Program on November 11, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

c. Consider one appointment to the Agribusiness Authority to fill an unexpired three-year term, set to expire December 31, 2025. Applicant has met the criteria.

d. Approve/Deny alcohol license (Retail Sales – beer and wine) for Bimal Patel, Royal 77 LLC dba Zebulon Whistle Stop, 5900 Highway 19 South, Zebulon, GA. Applicant has met criteria.

e. Consider a request regarding the reduction speed limit on Hollonville - Zebulon Road for school zone.

f. Award Bid for the Melville Brown Road Paving Project.

g. Authorize Chairman Briar Johnson to execute the pending tax appeals provided by the Chief Tax Appraiser for the digest submission.

h. Consideration of Plat for Road Abandonment – Etheridge Mill Road.

i. PUBLIC HEARING: To receive public input regarding Capital Improvements Element (CIE) Annual Update, pursuant to the Georgia Development Impact Fee Act and the Development Impact Fee Compliance Requirements of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, an authorize transmittal of the CIE Resolution.

j. PUBLIC HEARING: To receive public input on the notice of proposed property tax increase.
