REGULAR BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MONTHLY MEETING AGENDA

Monthly information from Animal Control, Coroner, Fire Department, Grady, Library, Magistrate Court, McIntosh Trail CSB, Planning & Development, Registrar, Superior - Juvenile Court, Tax Assessor, and the Water Authority are included as well.

a. Minutes of the June 27, 2017 Regular Monthly Meeting.

6. INVITED

a. Employee recognition for service to Pike County

Stephanie Long was honored for 10 years of service for the county. She works in E-911. CM Hanson said that Stephanie does her job well and that he thankful for what E-911 does for our county. Sheriff Thomas said that E-911 is one of the most unrecognized jobs and that Stephanie does a great job there.

Kyle Gooden was honored for 15 years of service for the county. Kyle works in Planning and Development. CM Hanson said that Kyle coordinates with the state and is always courteous and effective in his job. Director David Allen said that Kyle does a lot of behind the scenes work like helping out the county with right of way situations and ISO studies as well. He is appreciated.

c. County Manager Comment

CM Hanson said that the county has completed widening of Jonathan’s Roost Road. The next stage is cutting out the dips in that road and patching them. There is also some striping work in the county that has been completed, and the county is starting to map out future work.

d. Commissioner Reports

Chairman Briar Johnson said thank you to Kevin Teate and the Recreation Authority for the Pride of Pike Celebration. They did a great job.

e. County Attorney Report to Commissioners.

8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS

a. Second Reading of Text amendment to Title XV, Land Usage, Chapter 156, Zoning Code, Section 156.26 (J) Administrative Variance, relative to adding certain requirements of manufactured homes for consideration as administrative variance candidates.

No changes since the first meeting. Motion to approve. 3-0.

b. Second Reading of Text amendment to Title XV, Land Usage, Chapter 156, Zoning Code, Section 156.43 (A) and (B) Permitted Uses, Section 156.63 (A) and (B), Section 156.78 (A) and (B), Section 156.93 (A) and (B), relative to clarifying certain aesthetic and physical requirements for manufactured homes.

Motion to approve. Approved 3-0.

9. NEW BUSINESS

a. Consider request from Bryan Richardson from American Legion, Post #197 to use Courthouse grounds on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for Patriot Day Observance.

Motion to approve. Approved 3-0.

b. Consider request from Bryan Richardson from American Legion, Post #197 to use Courthouse grounds on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. for Veteran’s Day Ceremony.

Motion to approve. Approved 3-0.
