Action: Discuss/Approve/Deny

[Note from the Editor: This racetrack has been before the Board of Commissioners more than once in the past. If you will click on www.pikecountytimes.com and use the search box at the top of the page to type in "go cart track," you will get a list of links where this was discussed. If you use the highlights, it will help you find the specific BOC meeting because I have made some changes to my website over the years for the better. I have also downloaded the Community Development pages on this application for easy review since the current BOC meeting has over 100 pages of documentation. (And I LIKE THAT!) This track has a fairly long history in Pike County even if you just include the current history and not the entire history. If this is like past hearings, I expect the courtroom to be packed out on Tuesday for the public hearing so come early for a seat. This has been discussed in the May 14, 2008 meeting, the August 13, 2008 meeting, and the August 14, 2013 meeting as well as the May 25, 2010 meeting referenced above. My meeting notes from the 2010 meeting are unfinished so those will not appear in the search. However, the pdf download below gives the details of that meeting as well as the staff recommendation for denial and the Board of Appeals votes. The Board of Appeals had two votes--one for denial and one for approval with conditions. Read it for yourself in the link below.]

[Note from the Editor: If you appreciate being able to read information from county meetings for free on Pike County Times, please make a donation to Pike County Times through the PayPal link at the bottom of the page or by check to Pike County Times at PO Box 843, Zebulon so I can justify the amount of time that I am spending away from family. It may not seem like much but sitting in a meeting and then typing it up takes a lot more time than you might imagine! Thanks for reading Pike County's only FREE newspaper.]
