ZEBULON - The Pike County Board of Commissioners will hold a regular scheduled Board of Commissioners Meeting on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. with a 15 minute Town Hall Meeting where the public can speak prior to the meeting without being on the agenda.

Consider use of Courthouse Grounds from Bethany Ray on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for “Back the blue but do they back you?” protest. [Note from the Editor: Bethany Ray is scheduled to speak in Public Comment at the end of the meeting as well.]

b. Consider use of Courthouse Grounds from Meredith Maddox with Pike County Chamber of Commerce on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for the Holly Jolly Christmas Parade.

c. Approve/deny renewal of alcohol license (Pouring – beer, wine, and distilled spirits) for Jeremy Crumbley d/b/a Pedros, 212 Plaza Drive, Zebulon, GA. Applicant has met criteria.

11. PUBLIC COMMENT (Limited to 5 minutes per person)

a. Bethany Ray to address the Board regarding safety concerns in the community.

b. Carolyn Oxford to address the Board regarding tax appraisal and taxes.

12. EXECUTIVE SESSION

a. Chairman Briar Johnson requests Executive Session for discussion or deliberation on the appointment, employment, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action or dismissal, or periodic evaluation or rating of a public officer or employee or interviewing applicants for the position of the executive head of an agency, as provided in O.C.G.A. § 50-14-3(b)(2), germane to personnel.

b. County Manager Brandon Rogers requests an Executive Session to discuss the possible acquisition of real property pursuant to O.C.G.A. 50-14-3 (b)(1).

c. County Manager Brandon Rogers requests Executive Session for consultation with the county attorney, or other legal counsel, to discuss pending or potential litigation, settlement, claims, administrative proceedings, or other judicial actions brought or to be brought by or against the county or any officer or employee or in which the county or any officer or employee may be directly involved as provided in O.C.G.A. § 50-14-2(1), germane to pending or potential litigation.
