ZEBULON - The Pike County 4-H Horse Club took two junior teams (grades 5-8), to compete in the 4-H Horse Quiz Bowl held in Walton County on January 14.
One team was eliminated in the fourth round of the double-elimination contest. The other team placed third overall in the state.
In preparation for this event, the team members met several times monthly to practic, in addition to studying at home. Many members spent time on the phone, quizzing one another!
Horse Quiz Bowl tests the 4-Her’s knowledge of the horse and includes topics such as breeds, colors, conformation, anatomy and riding disciplines. It’s a challenging way to learn more about horses!
