1st Annual Bike for Life Benefit
ZEBULON, GA - The first annual Bike for Life was held at Crumb Crazy on May 3, 2008. It was a family affair and the proceeds went to the Relay for Life. We had fun before and after the rain rolled into Zebulon. Donald Wester brought a 1966 Oldsmobile Delta 88 convertible. It was number 921 off of the assembly line of only 1,140 of these convertibles. Donald won the Sponsor's Choice award. The 1972 Chevy Truck nicknamed "The Pope" won the People's Choice award. JT, also known as James Townsend from the Rock Store, was our DJ for the event. Giving away door prizes, playing music, talking to unsuspecting visitors about whether they had signed up for the door prizes were all part of the fun of the event. JT can be reached at 678-603-8136 if you need a DJ. Carl Duck won in the Sport Category at the 1st Annual Bike for Life with a 1982 Honda Rebel Bobber, Shawn Wommack won in the Stock Category with his 2004 Vulcan Classic, and Billy Mitchell won in the Custom Category with his 2007 Johnny Pag Spider. Houston Hatchett was the winner of the 50/50 drawing and he donated the winner's portion back to Relay for Life. Sponsors were Crumb Crazy, Royal Flush, Margie Trammell for District 3 Commissioner, Supreme Plumbing, Jonny on the Spot, The Pike County Times, Bad Boys House of Cycles, and the Committee to Re-Elect Priscilla Killingsworth for Chief Magistrate Judge. Trophies were made by Awards and Trophies Unlimited in Griffin and we talked Joe and Rob from Bad Boys House of Cycles into judging just this once. Gourmet coffee, capuccino, and smoothies were a big hit along with the the fun of hanging out and contributing to a good cause. Thanks to everyone who came out today! |
