The Pike County Times.com has been a source of public information for Pike County residents since November 13th, 2006. Local events are posted free of charge and citizens are excited to have a website where county and city government information can be easily accessed.

The web counter at the bottom of the page tells how many times the website has been accessed by an individual computer during a 24 hour period. The statistics below are much higher because my website server counts every visitor to the website even if someone visits two or three times during the day looking for news.

I have added a monthly hit counter to the bottom of the home page. It will count every time the front page is accessed.

Customers often choose their products or choice of business purchases based on name recognition. Name recognition of your business is achieved through your advertisement on The Pike County Times.com. Even a business without a webpage can have their information pulled up through a search on the world wide web.

The rolling scroll bar for advertising has been running since February of 2008. It makes sure that everyone's ad will be viewed beside the latest stories. Movie trivia is also on the ad bar to encourage readers to view the advertisements. Ads are stationary on the Calendar of Events page.

Customers have the choice of being above or below the purple weather bar on the front page. The weather bar gets more hits than anything else on my website! The placement from the top of the page and directly under the weather bar is determined on first-come, first-serve basis.

Please note: Advertising on the side bar is Buy One Get One Free for new customers. Another thing to note is that I am working to revamp my advertising on the website to include standard sizes. My current advertisers will be grandfathered in with their current ad rates as long as they have no breaks in their advertising with me.

New rates will go online shortly. Update 7.7.08: Pike County Times.com now accepts payments by Mastercard, Visa, and Discover.
